what the heck?

ok at first my trucks fuel filter light started blinking at a idle but if you wind it up and then bring it to a idle it wont start blinking for about five min it started doing this when i got up to ar. now that i have gotten back it wont stop until you hit about 2800 RPM. filter was changed at 210K. any ideas? truck runs great. prolly ran 1000 miles in the last 4 days including the drive up and back by the way its the 93

I don't know much about the 93, but when was the last time the water separator was drained?

That or a short are the only two things i can think of.

My 92 did that a while back... drained the water out of the bottom of the filter and refilled the filter with diesel kleen and it's been fine ever since.

i drained it thinking that was the prob but no change in the light. the filter has 1800 miles on it

You may want to do a pressure test on the lift pump.

It may be getting tired.

Or just a bad tank of fuel can plug a filter in a rather short amount of time if the pump pressure is OK.
