Is it possible to change my 4 speed man to a 5 speed man, if so is it a real pain or expensive.

Yes, it is possible, and you can use a ZF 5-speed with no bellhousing mods, as the big block housing had an external slave cylinder. Look for a 92-96 F-250 with a 460 or 7.3l diesel and a 5-speed, and you've found your tranny.

...and yes, it's expensive. $800-1300 used; even more for a reman ZF. What can you do? It's a popular transmission!

D'shafts, crossmember, trans mount, floorpan adapter, t-case shift lever, backup light switch connector, probably a couple of others...
