blower info

I HAVE A 1988 F-150 4.9L EFI. THERE IS A BLOWER MOUNTED ON THE PASSANGER WHEEL WELL THAT IS DUCTED TO THE MOTOR BY A HOSE.

THIS BLOWER ONLY COMES ON AFTER DRIVING THE TRUCK AND THE MOTOR IS SHUTOFF. IT RUNS FOR ONLY A COULPE OF MINUTES THEN SHUTS OFF.

WHAT IS IT CALL AND WHAT IS FOR.

My truck has it too. Its an after run blower and used to cool things down when the truck is shut off.

It is supposed to help with vapor lock during hot restart conditions, or at least that is what I understand.

If it runs when things are hot and a few minutes after shutdown, and the duct work is in good condition and connected all should be as it should be..

blower info again

thanks white97 xlt and volvo 92906.

also the air supply hose that feed the blow, what is on the intake end of that supply hose? is thare a filter?

mine is open, just a hose on the wheel well running to the intake of the blower.

I could be wrong, but I really see no need for a filter, the way I understand it, it just blows across the injectors and "fuel rail", it is not putting air inside the engine.

To be honest I have never seen one in person, all I know is what I have read in manuals and what I have read here on FTE..
