Blower Problem...
Hey guys,
The blower on my '89 F-250 only works when the selector is on the highest speed. Is it the actuall blower motor or is it an electrical problem? What do I do? Thanks.

Easy fix, the blower resistor is shot. About 20 bucks at Napa etc..
The resistor plugs into the plastic air duct with 4 or 5 wires attached.

Would it be plugged in close to the registers or closer to the blower itself? If its close to the registers, which one? Thanks for the help so far.

On my 95 Taurus it's under the dash/passenger side behind the glove box.
On my 87 Ranger, it's under the hood/passenger side near blower motor.
Take a look around, should'nt be hard to find.

I found it. How do I test it to see if it's bad?
Thanks.

If the plastic looks melted, it's definetly shot.
Autozone can probably test it for you.
Or if you have the wiring diagram, it's very simple to test with an ohm meter.

Well, I know that Autozone doesn't sell the resistor, but maybe they do test it. They said it's probly a dealer item.

most all resisters are located on the heater box so that the air can keep the coils cool.
