I have forever been a Mustang guy and am new to this truck and motor.
I am looking for a good cold air kit, throttle body and exhaust set up for the 4.0L.
What are some of the better kits out there? What is a good size to go with for the throttle body? And what exhaust systems are available that are worth the investment?
You should have good luck with that 4.0 Ranger. It's a pretty solid set up. Not sure how well it will respond to the stuff you want to change, but see what the folks over in the Ranger section have to offer.
Ok, you already have a Cold Air Intake. Ford put them in right from the factory. The throttle body is already plenty large enough. The exhaust can be improved, but only slightly. Unless you do something to ram more air into the engine, you are not going to see huge gains since Ford did a great job building these to begin with.
Well, those motors are pretty good the way they come. If you're a Mustang guy, remember that the '05' newer ones had the same 4.0L. You will never make a speed demon out of a 4x4. I'd just enjoy what you have for now.
