Quick question. Why do you want to delete the cats, what do you hope to gain, and have the cons been weighed into this?

There is little or none to be gained by this. You may also have CEL to deal with. If you want it louder just run straight pipes off of the cats. If the cats are bad replace with highflow ones.

He said he wanted it to be louder and he already straight piped the muffler.

Tell him that from a legal standpoint his truck is already plently loud. Also tell him if he really wants it louder, he should remove the sound deadening that Ford implemented into the cab. His truck is probably fairly loud outside, but you have to remember, Fords have the quietest interiors.

I didn't see it mentioned that it was straight piped off the cats.

I really think that the more people keep removing smog stuff like cats etc, eventually will make it harder for shade tree mechanics to do other mods, because of more regulations like California already has. Leave the smog stuff alone. It does not really reduce performance much at all. It is a federal law and the fine for tampering with it is more than anyone would want to have to pay.

I know it might make it louder inside the truck, but don't remove all the sound deadening and insulation. That will ruin the truck.

DO IT.

Ive had mine done for 3 years, I love it, and everyone I know does. If you don't like it, **** off.

I originally had a strait pipe off the cats, but didnt like it. It sounds like a hopped up mustang without cats. I saw a small MPG increase and a little bit more power. Heres a good sound clip for all you haters...
This is only around 3500-4000 rpm. It really screams at anything higher....

I am not a "hater" as you call it. Just because someone disagrees with you, it isn't necessary for thinking people to start name calling.
If you have a different position then state YOUR well thought out reasoning.
Frankly the noise from the little japanese cars with the custom pipes is annoying and unnecessary also.
