The "beeper," or whatever it is called that beeps if your lights are on works in my truck (1990), but it is very quiet. I left my lights on the other day and had to get a jump, it would have been nice if the beeper was loud enough to hear. You can barely hear it now. How can I fix this, I can't even find the thing. Does simply replacing this usually fix the problem? Thanks
See my post named "Buzzer Location ?" Steve83 replied with a couple of links but I still can't find anything on it. Let me know if you find it since mine is an 89 and I'll do the same if I find it 1st. I think that my problem is the same as yours and I hope that replacing the buzzer or whatever it is called will resolve the problem.
Yeah, I saw that thread, but the links didn't seem to go anywhere that gave me an answer. This is not an emergency, just an annoyance, one day when it is warm and I'm bored I will look for the thing. But mine is not a "buzzer," it beeps, actually it's more like a "ding-ding-ding" sound. I'll post if I find anything.
I had to replace mine because it was so quiet. It is located to the left of your radio/HVAC area on an 87-91. Probably same for other years too. It is attached with one or two screws and has multiple wires hooked up to it. Junk yard had one paid two bucks and it works great.
