Theres a guy on ebay selling Ford keyless entry. This is just the keychain and instruction on how to program. Has anyone ever tried a used keychain from Ford with success. I stopped by dealer, and the guy at the parts counter claims that all of these are not the same, just because they look alike. Wanted to see if anyone here has tried this.
Apparently there are two different keyless entry system that were available on the Broncos. One was a factory system that uses the remotes you see on Ebay, and the other is a Ford (made by CodeAlarm) alarm system installed by the dealer. They both use two different remotes to operate. I have the dealer installed alarm system, and th remote from my Expedition will not work with it.
The factory keyless entry module is located under the dash alongside the steering column, while the dealer alarm system is located under the dash on the left by the E-brake.
I am trying to get my system working, but have had no success yet. Good luck and let me know if you find anything out.
Does the keyless remote system need some module receiver to make it work with the door locks and ignition? I have the remote keyless on my bronco but must more to it that just the remote?
