im prob retarded but i cant seem to figure out what trans and transfer case my truck has. all i can find is i think the casting numbers C96391 on the trans and G11415 on the t-case. its a 4 speed manual. the trans slips out of third gear all the time and i dont know what the prob is and would like to find another trans for it but have no idea what one i have and what ones i can use to replace it without having to change other parts.
any help will be much appreciated thanks!

all the id tags are ripped off this old thing so it makes it hard to see what everything actually is.

think the trans might be a NP435..if that helps any cheers!

reverse is on the right hand side. rear right hand.

 

should be a np435

 

ok its a np435 then

 

pull ur trans plate out of the floorboard or if you can tell from the bottom a np435 has a aluminum housing on the top that house the shift forks in and a t-18 doesn't but you can swap in a t-18 or a different np-435 and not swap anything at all but the t-18 is geared slightly higher.

Not sure? Pull the rubber boot from around the shift lever...look at the cap that retains the shift lever to the tower.

New Process 435: The cap is notched, retained by two pins that protrude from the tower. The cap must be pressed down and held down while turning it to remove it.

Warner T-18: The cap threads off/on.

 

k awesome thanks alot guys. i am new on here and appreciate all the help. so ive established ive got a 77 351m with a np 435 with a np205. now i guess all i gotta do is figure out why my trans is falling out of third gear. so if you got any help on that , thatd be great
