FE 390 Piston Selection
Hey everyone I am rebuilding my stock FE352 into a 390. I just want to know which of the pistons here:

, will be good for me.
Flat-top dish etc. etc.
This is a budget build and this will be a stock 390 build. Factory heads and everything except for cam. But im going to pick the cam once i know tire size, gears, comp. ratio and that sort of thing.
This will go into my 1967 f100 just for a work truck.
Any ideas?

You have a 352 and you are going to bore it .050?
And install a 390 crank and rods?
What is the casting number on the heads you are using? Do you know the combustion chamber volume?
IMO about a 9 or 9.5 : 1 CR would be good. At least the high 8s.

make note that the 1139 use the long rod 352 while the other 2 pistons are 390 short rod. i run the 1131 leaves about .031 deck clearence, compresion is low to mid 9's about perfect, the 1130 are a lower compression piston like a 410 style replacement.

I already have the new crank and im getting short rods here soon. okay so ill try the 1131's if thats what you suggest. Mid nines is what im shooting for on the compression too. Another thing is im using the heads off the 352. Im pretty sure the combustion chamber volume is the same . The casting number on my heads is C7AE-A.
