Keep the old one around, you can clean it and keep it around for a spare...
Mine had the same symptoms a few years back. I spent a small fortune in sensors and towing because nobody on the forums knew what was wrong back then. It was a dirty IPR. I didn't diagnose the problem until I bought AutoEnginuity. I installed a new IPR and bought a rebuild kit from Riffraff so now I have a spare.
I just fully warmed up the truck (in park) and put it in drive. The truck went about 100 yds and when I let off the throttle the engine died just like it was shut off. Now I'm waiting for it to cool back down to restart to get it off the road.
I had a simular situation. You have a issue with your high pressure oil system. Oil gets hot and gets thin, causing the issue. Have you watched your ICP? My bet would be as the oil gets up to temp you are loosing enough pressure at idle to kill the motor.
Check your ICP first you need to monitor it until the engine dies. Report back with ICP details..
