C6 output shaft question

C6 output shaft question

my 84 F150 has a one-piece driveshaft with slip yoke at the transmission. if i get a C6 with the U-joint flange, what changes to I have to make to use it with my driveshaft? can i just remove the flange, or is the output shaft and or extension housing different? thanks for any replies

Previous posts indicate an output shaft change requires a complete teardown.....

Wait and buy a matching trans. There were millions served, one will pop up for you.

Or get another drive shaft with it's own slip yoke.

Housing & shaft are different.

If they did that they would be need to install a centre support bearing for the drive shaft.

If it's a single shaft, why would getting one that had a slip yoke at one end require a carrier bearing?

Why fool around adapting the wrong transmission for this vehicle?
C6s are like sand at the beach, get the right one.
