Need help..

Alright. i cant search EVERYTHING in/on this list..

can people share their knowledge?

Twelve best mods (IMO):
1. coolant filter (dieselsite filter is a good choice).
2. Stiffer fuel pressure regulator spring (3c3Z-9t517-ae) or the BB mod.
3. Larger turbo oil drain tube (depending on your year model) (Ford Part # 6C3Z-9T515-A or International Part # 1876071C91)
4. Gauges!!! Especially fuel pressure, boost, ECT, and EOT.
5. ccv re-route ( 1 inch hose, GST-II for oil resistance, and a Racor filter - either a 4500 or a 6000, ).
6. Fumoto valve (http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...PROD&ProdID=33)
7. Updated HFCM drain plug (Ford #6E7Z-9C082-A or International #2589259C91)
8. Harpoon the fuel tank
9. High idle mod
10. Power steering filter (Magnefine #M010CB - w/ 3/8 inch connections).
11. BriteBox
12. 24 inch windshield wipers

I dont know what most of this means....haha

also

Drain your HFCM every oil change and when you drain water from it, empty it into a jar and visually inspect. WHAT!? drain water from it. yeah yeah... but where is it!

I don't understand. What is the question? And also I would say a regulated return is better than doing the spring, or the bb mod IMHO.

Driver's side frame rail, front of cab. Black plastic cap is the filter. Unscrew with a 1 7/16" socket.

1. Coolant filter: first mod done on my truck, yes dieselsite.

2. Only if you have checked your fuel pressure to make sure you actually need it. Don't do it until you know. (Thus # 4 Gauges )

5. Keeps oil that comes from CCV out of the intercooler hoses, and help keeps the CAC tube fro blowing off.

6. Easier oil changes.

7.HFCM picture,(see below) under the driver side door in the frame. The brass plug you can barely see. Under the fuel heater harness. Be careful it tends to strip, thus some get : Updated HFCM drain plug (Ford #6E7Z-9C082-A or International #2589259C91)

8. Harpoon the fuel tank: lets you get a couple more gallons of fuel in tank faster. The vent tube sticks into the tank too far

FYI, you drain the water from the drain on the side of the hfcm. It take a 7 mm allan wrench (iirc). You don't take off the cap.

Oops, yeah, forgot to mention that part of it!

Yeah, I have never tried to find the metric "equivalent". I use the SAE socket because that is what I have and it works. No sense in buying a 50 dollar metric socket if the SAE one works just fine. Good tip for those people at home who don't have a full set of large metric sockets, but do have a 3/4 drive Craftsman SAE set laying around. I was thinking to myself when I said that though "what is the metric size of that hex?"

thanks for the info Gents..

But I guess my main question is are they all " you have no choice but to do this if you own a 6.0" type of mods...

Like why do i need a coolant filter as well as the rest of the list....

Follow?

Well, you can take 6,8,9,11,12 off the list if you want. Those are things to make things easier for you. Not the motor. Unless you require a lot of idling, then 9 would stay. The rest are good to do. I have done 1,4,5. ( i don't have fuel pressure gauge yet, but will soon)

3 I'll do when I need to be in there for something else.

2 depends on getting the fuel pressure gauge.

7 will come if and when I need to replace the stock one.
