Help Grandpa's Ford get Pimped!
This where I need everyone's help, I recently entered Big Red in a local contest called "Pimp My Pile." A local radio station is going to put $10K into fixing up the vehicle with the most votes. I know this a lot to ask as a new member, but I do not have the resources to bring the truck back to its former glory. If you can take 5 minutes out of your day to help out a new Ford owner to get my grandpa's truck fixed up. Go to kfat929.com, its a hip hop station (I'm more a country guy, but they are the ones with the contest). Click on Pimp My Pile. You will need to create a log in, but they do not send junk to your email account. Once that is done, please vote for Big Red, the picture shows a faded red Ford with no grill.
As soon as I figure out how to post photos on my profile here, I will show you the current appearance of Big Red!
Thank you,
Kurt and Big Red

I agree with the others, I LOVE & DROOL over the Stock Looks, with all the trim & Emblems, etc...
I don't like lowered anythin', or HUGE wheels on a 2WD. (I'm young, But, Very old-fashioned)
Unless you want to destroy the originality of your truck, then don't do it...
As of 15 minutes ago, I am now rated #15, up from 25th place three days ago. But I sitll need your help to win. Go to www.kfat929.com, click on Pimp my Pile, they do require a login, but they don't send junk mail. Once you are logged in, Click on Pimp my Pile again and then vote for "Big Red" aka Grandpa's Ford! I know there is another old Ford truck on there, but Big Red has abetter shot at winning!
Thanks again everyone and I look forward to learning more about my old Ford from this forum!
"Stumps and trees 'fine tuned' the body while my grandfather at age 70 decided to build a log cabin in the woods as their retirment home. The bumpers got a little more twisted up thanks to his poor eyesight and parking lot light poles!"
"Back in the late 80s, Grandpa rolled the truck in snow storm on the way home from a Christmas concert. Grandma hung upside down in her seatbelt for 45 minutes until the paramedics could cut her loose. The cab was twisted back into shape and the front windshield is fused down the middle to make it fit."
"The passenger side has taken the brunt of the 'use' through the years. The tailgate does have a custom feature, the quick release bungee cord tailgate! All in all the body is thrashed, but the whole family loves it, most of the grandkids learned stick shift in it, and it has always completed the task at hand!"
Although I dis-agree with it, Cause I like Factory, I did Vote for you...

Your truck is The Same Color as mine....
It's Ford "Bright Red" & is Paint Code K.
Just dont let it come back slammed on 24s with a chopped top!!!

Make sure they don't do all kinds of stupid crap like most of them pimp my ride places do nowadays. If they did your Grandpa would probably consider it a smack in the face.
The history behind the truck is this:
In 1978 my Uncle Pat bought Big Red in Fairbanks, AK and used it for all sorts of outdoor activities. In 1981 my Grandparent's retired to a piece of land 12 miles outside of Fairbanks and built a log cabin. Grandpa borrowed the truck to yard out some logs and put the first of many good sized dents in it. My uncle sold it to Grandpa for $1 with the rights to it when Grandpa was done with it. He got it back when Grandpa died. My uncle drove the truck daily until he replaced it with a new F250 last fall. I told him years earlier, if he wanted to sell it at some point. I would buy it. He sold it to me for $1, I gave him $2, it was a deal at twice the price. Included with the sale were two new fenders and a new rear bumper, what a deal! Now that I own it and moved it to Anchorage, my plan was to keep it for my use and that of the family in Fairbanks.
Big Red may not be pretty, yet, but ugly in that cool sort of way!
