After replacing everything in my cooling system three times over... water pump x2, thermostat x3, fan clutch x3, upper and lower hoses. flushed system with cleaner x3, pulled radiator and back flushed with water. nothing helped. it would still get hot and puke 4-6 gallons out while under load. The general consensus was that i had a head gasket leaking combustion pressure into a water jacket.
Well I did not want to accept that as an answer. I pulled the radiator 1 more time, took it into a radiator shop in bend and had them flow test it. guess what? It was plugged bad.. so bad that they would not gaurentee it to work after acid washing it and cleaning it. He told me to save my hassles and buy a new one.. He gave it to me at cost + 10%, $172.50 I put it in tonight and filled it up, hooked the trailer to the truck and went for a drive, found the longest steepest hill around about 10-13% grade for 10 miles. hauled *** up this hill pushing the limit.. got to the top of the hill at East Lake. pulled over and popped the hood. No boil over, popped the cap and nothing but a very small whisp of air... not even close to hot. I dipped my finger in the coolant and it was just warm....
Looks like I'm not putting in head studs anytime soon!
That is awesome new man! Next time we get together you can actually enjoy it and not have to troubleshoot the whole time.
Ya no CHIT huh? I feel like an idiot that i did not try that a month ago... I will be calling you tomorrow to order that valve body.. I wanted to get this BS out of the way first. Thanks for all the help and advice last weekend
