its a stroker based on a 460. my question has to do with truck not engine.
the headers are for a 385 serirs ford engine in a 1966-1979 ford truck. fenderwell exit. i was wondering what changed between 1965 and 1966. i strongly suspect that the diference is slight and easily overcome, but i thought i would ask here
Not aware of any chassis difference between the 65 and 66 F100. Suggest take care of the 65 fender emblems, and the 65 anodized grille if it applies. Installed Hedman long tube headers in the 65 w/ the 390 and 3 speed and did not have any problems. Installed Hooker long tubes on 65 w/ 302 and T18, 4 speed, transmission, and used a 4" grinder to remove small amount of metal on passenger side crossmember for additional clearance where collector attaches to exhaust pipe. On both installations had to lift engine to install passenger side header.

I am surprised that you found anything in the 60s for the 460, since it was mid-late 70s before they were used in pickups.
The engine bay area is basically the same from 65 to 79, with some minors here and there.
Ya I was surprised to see the 60's truck listed as well. Even more surprised to see that they are a decent size for performance (2" primary 3.5" collector) I hadn't considered putting the engine in my truck before but the inline 6 is tired and it would be a much simpler swap in the truck than the car. Now I just need a good reason not to do it. 650 lb ft of torque with a top loader would be lots of fun in the truck I think
