I just picked up a set of aftermarket gauges, instead of the warning lights. Got the temperature and oil pressure gauges hooked up. I was just wondering what was the best location was for hooking up voltmeter wire? I want to know the alternator is working, so where do I hook up the wire?
anywhere you care about the voltage if its your battery and alternator then just hook it up with as short a cable as possible to the battery or solenoid
since voltage drops with wire length its important to keep it short
or just hook it up to your dash/radio etc and you will see what the truck wire system on average has, either way your looking for a "normal" then a not normal
be that 11.5-14 volts given that a wire run will take at least 1/2 a volt off your system
