speedo stoped working wright
1996 ford ranger 3 L speedometer reads 25 mph with key on 0 with key off shows speed + 25 mph when backing up help ????<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

if that does not work check 2 harnesses under the truck by the fuel filter

change the speed sensor in the top of the diferentil. you remove one bolt i think it is a 10mm pop out the senosr disconnect the wire. CLEAN THE AREA WELL. PUT SOME OIL ON THE ORING OF THE NEW SENSOR AND INSTALL. takes about 10 minutes. I backed mine up on car ramps but it is not necessary

that is a very common problem to those speedometers. you must remove the speedometer from the cluster and re solder the circuit board. if you have a magnifying glass you may be able to see the bad solder joint.
