grill swap
Has anyone swaped a 79 grill for an older style. I just like the look of the round lights and markers on top instead of bottom. What would have to be changed other the the headlight buckets. Thanks for the help.

I like this look also, esp the 73-75 inserts. I thinks its a direct swap like you said. F-O-R-D lettering is at top of 73-77 grille and since F-O-R-D lettering is on front of hood of 78-79 so you end up with F-O-R-D twice on front of truck. I always wanted to fab an insert across the top of the pre-77 grilles to replace the F-O-R-D but I believe you need access for hand to reach hood release.
I'm not sure if there is an archive "how to" on this swap w pics. Maybe when I do mine in the next few weeks I'll provide one.

I used to prefer the 78-79 grills and still like them but I really think the 73-75 may be the best looking of the series. I do like how F-O-R-D is mounted in the grill instead of the hood on my 76.
