How cold would be too cold? I guess I'll tap in a sender and watch it next time I hit the road. I just kinda figured that with all the oil shear it would be benificial to keep it cooler

I'm no engineer Barney, but if the oil is shearing I don't think keeping it a little cooler will help.
Frequently changing it out is the ticket.

Maybe oil shear is the wrong term. But with the helical cut gears there is a lot of load between gears. just thought cooler denser oil would be better

Thanks Dan. I'm already running syn fluid.I guess I'm just thinking out loud. planning the next mod. Bob at Dieselsite has an awesome external filter and a piece that bolts on in place of the PTO cover allowing for a increase in capacity.
