Hey everybody, been off this site for waaaaayyyyy too long!!! This is the first post I've read on here in... aw, who knows how long it's been, anyway, good thread GreenMonster. I've been a ford guy for as long as I have driven, though I can't say what got me started on fords. Probably the fact that my folks had 1975 Merc Cougar XR7 and when I started watching nascar that was one of the vehicles that some of the big boys ran, that and t-birds, so that would be who I rooted for, what can I say, I was just a kid. My very first car was a 1967 Cougar XR7, and I eventually ended up with the folks car as well. 30 some odd years later, and I'm still a ford guy, mostly because I've driven a lot of other brands out there, chevy, dodge, toyota, nissan, blah, blah, blah, and just have not been very impressed with anything other than a ford. For 7 years I did ALOT of after market work in the automotive trade and became well educated in what was easy to work on, and what was absolute crap, and that includes general maintenance on just about everything out there, even Yugos, remember them? Well for me Fords are the most reliable and easy to work on vehicles there are, hands down!! I know there are a lot of nay sayers when it comes to this subject, well they can go waste their money on something else. I have now owned 2 different versions of the most popular selling truck in America (maybe even the world?) over the last 14 years, a 1990 F150 and now a 2005 F150 and I couldn't be happier with the choice I've made. If I purchase another vehicle, it WILL be a truck and it will be for damn sure a Ford, maybe even a 250 or 350? Who knows. I will eventually be getting the wife out of her Izuzu Rodeo (though as it turns out, really isn't that bad of a vehicle) and hopefully getting her into a Ford Edge or maybe even an Expy. I've already got our boy in a Sable. We will be an all Ford family, NOT BUILT WITH TAX PAYER MONEY!!!
