power rear window

why does it barely move when truck is at an idle? i have lubed the cables and it still only works so so even when driving, for what ever reason the rpm of engine seems to effect the ease of operation.

You might want to check your batteries and alternator to see if they are up to par?

Mine was slow for about 2 months. Happened the day I forgot to totally close the rear window prior to going thru a car wash.

There is a whole thread on how to rebuild / repair the motors:

How To Repair the Power Window Regulator / Motor .: Ford Truck Articles

Check voltage and current and verify that the motor is receiving full current and voltage...

If you have bad power going there, a new motor is not going to work any easier.

From what I hear, the main reason most dont work is the glass is glued into the lower mount and it comes loose. This will jam the glass in the track and cause it to usually open slowly and sometimes not close. Spraying it with white grease or a dry lube usually makes it work for awhile but the true fix is to replace the rear window or find out what Ford was using to re-glue the window.

Also, sometimes the cable gets "bound up". I believe the motor and cable assembly is around $250 from Ford - if it comes to that for you.

i will look into that, however i have not had any improvement after the several different lubes i have tried dry, wet, and cable lube for motorcycles as well. i took the back panel off and watched the motor operate didnt see anything obvious wrong with it i was wondering if rebuilding it is an option i dont mind trying anything b4 buying something

When I first picked up my used 06 the only issue was the rear slider. I noticed on the oasis that the rear slide motor was replaced. So I degreased the cable and glass track and gave it a good bath with silicon spray and it slides very smooth as compared to slow and jerky. What I noticed was the track and cable where over lubricated.
