Navigation Radio
Just replaced my factory single disk Cd player with a Pioneer Navigation Radio. Well worth the $800 I spent versus Ford's $3,000 unit. I tried purchasing one through the dealer at their cost and it was $3k. The pioneer unit has CD,DVD,Bluetooth and Navigation.
I also installed 4 new Kenwood 6x8's two months ago for $120.00. I have $1,000 in the system that sounds better than the Ford factory $3K system.
Thought about adding a AMP and Sub, however the Pioneer system has a AMP built into it. The company that installed it said a AMP wouldn't be worth spending the money on with the sound performance that I already have. The Sub would give it more bass, but I have a Reg Cab and don't really need the Sub.
This is a Great system for the money!

Which Pioneer unit did you get. I had the AVIC F700bt, and it was a little buggy, but a pretty good unit overall. I am thinking about getting one of the new AVIC units sometime soon to replace the one I sold. Those factory nav units sure to fetch the money. The last couple of ones I have seen on Ebay both sold for over $1,000. I just cant see paying that when you can buy a much nicer aftermarket unit for half the cost.

I thought about doing a similar upgrade but the cost to make the Satellite radio work with the new unit was going to be as much as the unit itself and then when they told me the steering wheel controls would NOT work it made the decision for me. I opted for the sub and amp upgrade and am very happy with my decision. I'm sure there is a way to make the steering wheel controls work but the installers at my local shop had no clue. I will say that Ford is definately more user friendly than Chevs are. I had an 07 2500HD and they route the power for the airbags through the radios now so it was going to cost me over $800 just to bipass that and make everything work, what a stupid idea that is.

My unit also came with the Ipod connection and the bluetooth option. The bluetooth ( or Ford's Sync) works Great. My wifes Expedition has the Ford Nav unit with Sync and the Pioneer unit does everything the Ford system does.
One day in the future, I want to add a 8-10 Sub in my center console. My only concern with this is the vibration in the console with it being made of plastic.

Interresting, sorry for the highjack but could you post up some info on this. I've got the factory 6 disc and want a little more punch with the music i listen to and want to keep the factory unit because of the SYNC. Thanks.

To the OP... that head unit looks great! Very clean, and I am sure it definitely has some power.
And Elongate, depending on your budget you have many options. I just recently did a decent upgrade to my system. I purchased all new Diamond door speakers to fit in the stock placement. Then I added two additional tweeters flush mount on the dash for reflective sound. They are powered by one 600 watt 4 channel amp. Then I for bass, I added a JL audio stealthbox that fits under the back seat. It houses a 13.5 inch single sub that pounds! It sounds super tight, nothing like two 12's. More like really tight 10's that go deep. That is powered by a single Rockford 500x1 amp. Lastly all four doors and the rear wall of the cab is all tightened up with Dynamat to kill any vibrations. This also slightly reduced existing rattles and some road noise.
Here is a pic of the sub enclosure
