'77 project, with some custom interior work

Hello all.

I'm Nelson, I'm a stereo guy, and I've been venturing into body work for quite a while now. This is Buela, my project.

I've got an uncle with a bed he said he'd give me, but until I'm willing to fork over the bucks to freight all the parts to Alaska I'm ghetto-patching the few rust holes. The bed has the normal wheel well rust and a hole up front inside it, and the drivers door is shot. the other door was replaced before the previous paint job. the paint has been touched up with rattle cans, and it's horrifying. looks good from a distanct, except for the rust that is now really poking through. I scored this truck for next to nothing, (traded 2 remote starts) and the motor was rebuilt not that long ago. it's a good running truck. I had to rebuild a front hub - all the way down to the spindle - but everything else is good....

I used urethane pour foam to fill the holes with a tagboard dam, then sanded it down and glassed it. I'm sure it will fall off within the year, but I'm only hoping to have to wait until the winter before I get the new parts.

I epoxied the hood last night, after a couple hours of grinding down the previous CRAP paint job. I see the bone heads doing the old paint job used a threaded stud puller. They should rot in hell.

I'll sand down those spots and weld in the holes and pull the dent out a little further before I bondo it this time.

Next up - I need to paint the wheels, and get the new windshield ready, and locate a new back window. I hope to have the whole thing at least into epoxy in the next couple weeks

That patch over the back wheel looks exactly what I did. LOL and Yea it's gonna start rusting. I don't care though, I'm like you I need a whole new bed so I wasn't worried about it. By the title of the thread I was expecting to see some customer interior pics though, not just body work. Good luck with it and keep us updated.
