i have a 96 f250 4x4 5spd 351w and i did the tach swap on my truck and now my turn signals dont work i put back in the stock gauges and they still dont work anyone got any ideas its kinda fustrating.
i checked them and they all work but im saying the truck period they dont work front or back would the dash make them all not work? i got a 96 cluster and everything works fine other then the turn signals it doesnt even make the little clicking noise when the lights are blinking and i tried the hazards and i still got nothing.
If the cluster you got is out of a 96, then your 96 truck should be fine with that. I don't see how its related to the turn signals. Do your emergency flashers work?
nope but they turn on when i turn on the running lights so the bulbs arnt dead but i did find a blown 30A maxi fuse in the fuse box under the hood so maybe thats it but i thought turn signals only used the in cab fuse box?
i replaced the fuse and i still got nothing could it b the circle turn signal switch thing that gets pluged into the fuse box in the cab? is there a way to check to see if its working or do i just replace it? but idk if that would do it cuz its not lighting up on the dash or the head or tail lights so i know its not the bulbs is there any relays or anything that are common to go out or anything? thanks
i swapped out the the round flasher thing in the fuse box in the cab so i have no blown fuses and the flasher thing has been replaced is there anything else all the bulbs arnt blown and i have no turn signals in the cab or on the head or tail lights. is there anything im missing? is there a ground for the whole turn signal switch? i dont have a ticking in the cab when the lights should be blinking but everything elses works.
Sounds like the multi function switch died, likely just a fluke it died mid cluster swap.
Myself I jumpered the turn signal circuits at multi function harness connectors once the switch was unplugged/removed just to test and verify it was the problem before buying a replacement.
what is that? is it the circle thing on the fuse box? cuz i replaced that its bugging the crap outa me cuz its my dd and base cops can be stifflers about anything.

No the turn signal itself, the part the lever sticks out of, you'll replace the whole thing lever and all. Easy enough to remove/test/replace.
should i get a new one or should i get one from a junkyard? The brights work if thats any consolation idk if that makes a difference. you said you can test them how do you do that? ill check it out tomarrow and see if i pulled on the wires by accident when i was doin the tach swap. o yea and if i gotta buy it new is it something i can get at autozone or is it an LMC kinda part? thanks
yep and i figured it out when i took apart the steering column and took off the switch i found that the pervious owner had done something to the switch cuz it was cut and it was a hack job and just tied the wires back together with out even using electrical tape and i had pulled one of the wires out so needless to say i spent an hour redoing all the connections and doing them the right way what a pain in the a$$ but it looks alot better and its done right and i wont have any fires from bad wiring.
