Pete, as a last resort yes I would.
As for the place to be, I'm not so sure about that.
The beaches won't be pristine, and the decaying wildlife suggests swarms of flying insects.
The oil will be in the swamps this time, versus the rocky beaches of Valdez, AK, and within those swamps will be poisonous snakes and alligators.
I suspect there is going to be a fair number of city-slickers that have unfortunate encounters with the fauna down there.

Dave the place to be is where you can make 20 bucks an hour right off the bat. If I didn't have an overly protective mother I'd be all over that.
