Has anyone used this on your Ex? I bought some tonight and am about to do a mini-blackout tomorow or maybe tonight if I catch a little insomnia, ha!
Anyone got pics?
I know Superduty guys have prob done it, but our lights look different and I would love to get a standard of darkness before I proceed. However, I will post pics when I'm done.
I bought a can to use on my Lightning fog lights. I didn't want the fogs too dark though so I tried to spray really light coats, but unfortunately the texture of the paint when sprayed too light comes out grainy. If I had gone a bit heavier, it would have been smooth as glass, but then it woud have also been too dark.
please read the rules for flames and trolls...childlike bhavior is unwanted, unneeded and uncalled for.
'scuze me?
You asked a question and I gave you my honest input brother. Unless your statement was ONLY directed at 03-6L-X, but if that were the case, you should have quoted his response, so there'd be no confusion.
Whatever. After reading some of your other posts it sure seems you like to dish it out yourself.
I used a similar product to darken up my front lighting. I like it. I have pics.
Hey William...wassup! I dont mind criticism and even negative comments...but its off topic and flame starting. I wont hate on someones ideas if they are in congruence(sp?) with the overall aim of the original post. Did he offer any suggestions? No...just a stab and go...sounds childlike to me.
Thanks guys for your thoughts...yeah I dont want to go too dark, but I wanted it to "Blend" a little and not be soo red, if that makes sense. One thing that hit me as I took the lenses off today is how dirty it is in the rear tailights section...seems like its pretty much open to all road debris and water back there! Yikes...not good.
I just cleaned the lenses and am pondering a run to the auto parts store for some led bulbs while I wait.

My mistake, as you would be the only to understand it after your comments on another thread about HID's.
Man am I having fun! I had today off and so I let my children help me do all the cleaning and prepping to paint and clear these lenses. I am excited more about making a visual difference in the truck than my abilities to make them look awesome.
It was a lot of fun doing stuff wth my boys today(now that school is out) and they were genuinely interested...and at 7 and 5 years old, THAT IS GREAT!
I will try and post pics tonight...but it is dark. Onward and Upward!
I ended up doing three coats of nite shades on the lenses, I would wait about 10-15 minutes between each coat. After an hour of drying time I wet sanded with 1500 grit and then 2000 grit.
I waited another couple of hours and I coated the lenses with 4 coats of Clear Coat Paint. The difference now is MAGICAL! Clear coat seems to be necessary for this. I know that buffing will be necessary in a couple days as there is some light orange peel texture to the application. Well, I guess it is fine for 75% of owers as the truck has tons of orange peel anyways!
Thanks for watching! I can post my clear coat product tomorrow when I'm back home...but I did pick it up from Pep Boys, and it was the only one available there.
whew...I would be signing my ticket in minutes....on a show vehicle I say go for it..
something I have to drive behind and use your lights to figure out what your next move is..I say you'll prob get the one finger wave...

Well...maybe not, I've got several lights on this truck you can't see because they arent lit in these photos. BTW these are iphone pics and the lights are a bit more red than the pics reveal.
I think when turning, if you can't see my turn signals, then my Recon LED light bar, led corner lamps, and LED trailer hitch lights would probably get your attention.
I know these are "Cool factor" parts and have no value to many other people, but I think it kicks boo boo!
