wow nice job its nice to see an original one every once in a while. So did you do any mods to it or is it all stock. looks like it might be a touch lowered??? nice looking truck no matter what
Great job on your truck. It looks like a sweet driver!
Keep up the great work. My 48 went thru the same process 11 years ago so I know all the blood, sweat and tears you've spent on it.
"Numbers matching" is pretty much a Chevy term - cause there are no matching numbers on a Ford truck of this era.
The chance of the engine being the original is pretty slim. Ford dealers and even other retail outlets swapped blocks when needed. You were lucky to get 80,000 miles on an engine back then. Check your block (passenger side rear intake flat) and see if you can find a date code. Letter, number, letter. Not all blocks were stamped. Some stampings were removed when a rebuild took place. Check out Jim's flathead birthday website....
The pickup is all stock with the rear axle flipped and a few leaves removed and the front has a 3 inch drop axle with a few leaves removed also.
The vin number on the frame, cab and title are matching. I'm the second owner of this pickup. The first owner was the GE service center. The title was still in their name when I purchased the pickup.
