my progress

Here is my 1950 ford f-1. All original, numbers matching frame, engine, and body. Trans does not have matching numbers but is original. I dont post much but I figured I would share my progress and see if anyone had any good things or bad things to say about it so far. Pics are in my gallery. I will post them here as soon as I figure it out!

Wow, I didn't even think it was the same truck! Nice job.

I maybe wrong on this but for some reason I thought on these old Fords the drivetrain didn't match numbers with everything else...

Great work, love the stance... looks great in dark green!

You've done a great job of bringing life back into the old
Ford. I like the stance and colour of it as well. Your welcome to come help me with mine, lol.

I'm not 100 percent sure on the numbers of the engine. When I tore the engine down, it was all standard size parts with the exception of the rod bearings which were .002 larger. From what I understand the 2 thou oversize bearings were a common replacment for an engine that had worn rod bearings. I guess that's what they did without having to overhaul the engine completely.

Also when the bearings were replaced,(who knows when) I saw a neat idea that the mechanic did to reinstall the oil pan. He had tied the oil pan gasket on in a few places with thin string though a few of the oil pan bolt holes so it wouldn't fall off during instalation. I though that was interesting.

Nice job. My 51 project is moving really slow. I just installed a 9 inch rear end.
