Tailgate handle
i just went to open my tailgate and the handle almost came off in my hand. has anyone else had this happen and what is the fix? it's a 2004 ranger. thanks.

Open your tailgate. You'll see a panel about 3/4 to the top of the tailgate that is held on by 8 or so hex screws. Pop those off and you'll have access to the guts of the handle. Replacement price on mine ('89 F150) is $20.00 at LMC. Other places are the same. FLAPS might even have one.
Gotta do this on my F150 as well and since I just got a '97 Ranger stepside with 196K
