'01 Transmission Won't Shift
'01 F150 4WD w/ 5.4L, 118K miles. Problem started with a clunking sound shifting from 1st to 2nd. Now it will take off in 1st gear, but goes into neutral around 2000 rpm or 50 mph. It stays out of gear until the rpm drops under 1500, and then it will go back in gear. Give it some gas and it stays in gear until about 2000-2200 and it slips out again.
Fluid level is OK (changed filter and fluid last at 100K) and the color is nice and pink - not burnt. Any ideas?

OK, thanks. That's what I was afraid of. I was hoping it would be something electronic.
I've rebuilt a few C4 and C6 trannies. How does this compare, and where's the best source for a rebuild kit and the hard parts?
