first one....i have a 66 ford f-250 with a way worn out bench seat, Id like to keep a bench seat in it and was wondering if anyone has swapped in a newer more comfortable bench seat without to much modification?
second one....do the f-100 rear leafs have less arch in them then my f-250 ones would? I took about 4 leafs out of my pack and they sit almost flat...but it looks kinda sketchy, so I would like to just a different flatter arched spring upside down to get my truck a couple inches lower in the back
hotrod, seats up to 79 are direct fit bolt in, past that to 96 one has to keep the part that bolts to the floor. There a many options and light modding to make your seat nicer.
I believe you can swap the side of the rear axle and lower the bed height. I would caution you to not start pulling leaves ***** nilly and one day want to pull a trailer or haul 200-300lbs. and find yourself in trouble.
Seats up into I believe the mid 80s are a direct bolt in...Ive got one in mine...only issue is the backrest is slightly wider and thus you gotta open both doors to flip the backrest forward.
As for the springs...the reason the backs kicked up as it is is simple...so when its loaded it rides relatively flat. if you arent gonna haul a load of rock or dirt or whatnot remove the leafs if you wish...I dont recomend it as you never know when you are gonna have to move some rock or bark or whatnot...its why those 1/2 tons are dragging their tail with that kind of a load...not enough spring in the rear.
Awesome! thats the info i was looking for about the seats! And as for the springs...i wont be hauling anything heavy in the truck at all so no worries there..its more of a cruiser than anything! I just want to get a bit more drop outta my truck...looks like Ill have to go drop shackle or spring under to do the job!
