I was wondering if I should engage the E-Locker in sand if I get stuck, or would that dig me in deeper? This is the first 4X4 Ive had with this feature and am still learning.
Do you think 20lbs would be good? When I last went out on the dunes, I had my Ranger FX4 I reduced the pressure down to about 15lbs and that worked good. But this is (obviously) a bigger truck and Ive got the 18in rim
Yep....Engage it! It will certainly help you out. All of my 4wd experience is in sand and a locker certainly makes a difference.
As tylus said....air down those tires. Just remember, the lower you go (pressure wise) the more careful that you must be when turning as you could pop a bead. Just watch it on the doughnuts!
try not to spin the tires from a stop... you'll have a tendancy to dig in and high center yourself... After you get some momentum, you can start to play with a rooster tail...

that is why I only recommend 20 psi. you'd probably be safe with 15 psi as well...but it is a heavy beast.
not to mention you have to drive to an air pump when the fun is over. 20 psi will be okay for low speeds (30 mph) to get to a gas station to air up
