Just dropped the tank to clean some more gunk out.
Getting tired of it.
Was thinking of using a hole saw and putting a sump in the bottom with a valve.
Anyone done such a thing?
I was going to make a 2 pc kit. One stainless steel ring with 6-8 tapped holes that will go inside. Then a plate with a threaded hole in the middle to bolt to the bottom. Any ideas on gasket to keep it sealed?
Thanks all.
Also, I just got my chip back from jody. Highly recommend sending it in to get updated. Very happy!
working on putting in a sump right now..ill be doing a complete fuel system with a fuel lab...i got my sump from Aggie over on PSN...Using the sealant that is used on Power Stroke oil pans ((Ford) F5TZ-19G204-AB (5oz, 1/2 caulk tube), (Wacker) T-442 or (International) 1830858C1), apply that to the mating surfaces on the sump and the mounting ring of the sump.install into the tank..Tighten to a reasonable torque, once tight you can wipe the excess silicone from around the sump and allow this to dry overnight.
he ran a sale a while back..not sure if the price is the same..mine was $200..little less for no color...there 5" wide 2 1/2" deep with 10AN thread for a 5/8 fuel line..you will need to modify the skid plate..my truck doesnt have one so no need to worry about one..
One thing to keep in mind princess is that IIRC sumped fuel tanks aren't DOT approved. To most people it wouldn't matter, but since you use your truck for work it may cause an issue for you.

very true...if you get pulled in a weigh station your done..
......for a DD you can get away with a sump but its not really legal in all states...
near the back of tank where its the lowest and flattest there is already a flat circle about 6" round..ill be putting it there..the hole I cut is 3" and the sump sits up into the tank about a 1/4" off the bottom so what ever dirt off the bottom of the tank wont fill the bowl...sitting up inside the tank will also prevent it from trying to slip around in the tank..it will be a nice tight fit when done right...the sump was made just a tad over 3" just for that purpose...with a sump I help the pump live longer by only pushing not sucking also no need for a lift pump..something else to break....fuel lab requires running 5/8 line up to my 2 micron then run 1/2 to my bowl delete and return the left over in a 3/8..the fuel lab has adjustable speed..low speed it supports 600 HP..high speed up to 1300 HP with 0 PSI drop...
I tried for a solid 10 minutes.. got the starter pretty hot.. I'm gonna go give it another shot. The line w/ the blue end is the fuel line right? I'm worried that I put the lines on backwards
