Are you running any of those LED lights in place of the regular bulbs? My friend did on his lexus and had the same problems. He had to install ceramic load resistors to clear it up.

That's a good suggestion; my bro had those LEDs in his back tail lamps and he
kept blowing fuses, he thinks it has something to do with the different amounts of
draw on the LEDs vs the lamps in the third brake light in the center (I suspect
otherwise).

The LED has no resistance. I had some of those cheap 1157 ones in my tail lights and noticed that they would still barely light up when the truck was shut down. They are very sensitive to any slight power supply.

Also, sometimes when i'm driving and I go to take a turn? Sometimes my steering wheel locks up for a second.

Sounds like the turn signal switch causing your problems. The brake lights do run through that switch. Also with your steering wheel locking up in turns could mean that turn signal switch cam levers are messed up.

Another related saying: Electronic run on smoke. If you let the smoke out, they won't work anymore........

I fried my harness on my old 63 falcon one night. The light went out on my aftermarket gauge, so i reached under and touched something and watched the whole harnessgo up under the hood. Was not a fun time. I did it again on a 1970 chevy stepside. I learned then not to go cutting and hacking into the harness. I make my own harness for my radio and anything else I need.

January 1st 1976 at a party in an apple orchard, had my 68 Plymouth Belvedere with the stereo a blasting, speakers on the roof, next thing I know it quits playing kinda funny like and I heard people yelling ... By the time I got there, there was nothing I could do, it burnt to the ground cause I hacked in the stereo ... I've never hacked a harness again, I always fix hacked harnesses correctly!

Sure did spoil a good party!

Don't hack it, Pigtail it!

-Enjoy

When I converted my 84 F250 300 over to EFI, I used that funky alternator that is a known fire hazzard(didn't now that 15 years ago). One night bumming around I got a loud alternator buzz in the radio and lights went dim then engine stalled. Popped open the hood to find that alternator connector/harness on fire. Nothing around to put out that fire!! Had to **** on it to put out that fire!! Messy way to save a truck but it works! Since then I always have a fire extuisher with the trucks I drive now.

Again about 5 years ago, the ignition switch burned up on me, at least fire ext powder is better than ****........

Personally I'd rather deal with the wiz, that powder makes a heck of a mess and gets into all kinds of places one doesn't want it, not to mention the grit factor.
