Error Codes Shift Solenoid B, Range sensor malfunction
You have to check this before doing anything else!!d
My 2000 F150 has 88,000 on it. For at least a year now, I've been battling PO705, 755, 141 and 161 codes. I had the downshift issue that prompted the 755 code. I've changed the TRS twice. The codes keep coming back. I stumbled upon a video with a guy who spent thousands of $$$ on transmission rebuilds and ultimately replacement. However, the code(s) came back. Like mine. He finally found the culprit. A large wiring harness that connects near the firewall and battery, runs down by oil dipstick, comes across the transmission housing and splits off to the TRS, O2 sensors and other components. Where the harness crosses over the tranny, it comes into close or direct contact with the engine head and exhaust manifold. On my truck, I found one wire burned almost in two. Other wires were scorched, stuck together and missing insulation. For sure, more than one wire was shorting out on another. I repaired the nearly broken wire, and liquid taped the rest. ALL GOOD NOW!!! The repair wasn't easy, but worth a shot before taking it to mechanic. Saved hundreds if not thousands of $$$!!!
