how many pounds of freon do these trucks take?

ZERO. "Freon" is R-12...... Smart-azz answers aside, I believe it's 42oz of R-134A. Someone check me though -- going off my (bad) memory.

I thought it was 3 1/2 lbs,but that's running off bad memory also.I never measure (I use 30 lb kegs),just go by pressures

I think it was 3 1/2 *cans*, which are 12 oz each, which = 42 oz, by my math...

Be carefull not to overcharge your system, R134 systems can be overcharged, more isn't better in these sytems. Buy the can with the hose & guage its worth the few extra $$$. Also check out doing the Heater Bypass valve mod, might be a good time since you're charging your A/C system.
