A/C (rear) question

Okay, so I truly know nothing about AC systems.

I get a drip over the tailpipe from the rear AC unit, and the liquid does not evaporate like water.

I see where the fitting go up into the control box and the drips come from there.

This is not typical condenser drip, but I also can't pick up any odors or oily feeling.

Any common issues I should be looking at?

Thanks.

Refrigerant will not condense (be in liquid form) at atmospheric pressure. If it was a ref. leak your ac would become less efficient as time progresses. That is most likely condensation of the normal type.

As the humidity rises the amount of evaporation the atmosphere can handle decreases. (i.e. you get more water and thus takes longer to evaporate.)

As the humidity decreases the quicker the condensate evaporates.
(i.e. you get less water dripping from the condensation.)

Where are you located?

I'm in So Cal and rarely does it ever drip unless the humidity goes way up and that is rare. Go to the south and water pours out the front and rear evaps due to the saturation of the atmosphere.
