I hope he does come back. I left the slick 60s site a while back and came here. I wish I had done it years ago. I personally do not understand anyone prefering the other site over this one. The stuff I see here is tame compared to the attitudes over there. There is a distinct mindset that you have to have to be able to stay there. To me the other site has gotten away from trucks and has become something darker. I had been there since right after it began in the late 90s. I will not go back due to the way they do over there.

^^^^^^
Very well said...... i no longer go there myself.
Willie, I go back up the river to the creek, and all the way to the spring when there were only about a dozen of us in a group on Exite that currently grew into the Slick60s.com site. It is/was more of a club, while this site is/was more technical in nature. Many of us oldies are registered users on both sites. I have spent little time there in the past 6-8 years, because I come here every day. When I went there yesterday and clicked login I was remembered.
I think I remember you Billw and I do remember jowilker. I don't go back as far as jowilker but I started before it was on msn or just after they went to msn if I remember correctly. I joined under a different name around 99 then after a few months I got busy with other things. By about 2001 I had got back on and got serious redoing my truck. The site was one a big help to redo mine. I sat down and figured out the dimentions of the original door panels from a photo. I made a how to on how to make them and posted the patterns. You can look at my truck to see how theey look. Well anyway one person over there started making them and he was the"one" who figured it out. It didn't make me mad he was making them but what got me was there was no credit from anyone I had originally posted a how to there. but thats the way they are there.
One guy sent me a email with his phone number on a question I had on painting. I called him up and I bet we talked over and hour. He was right on the money. He said he quit posting due to being put down by others there. I have gotten really nasty emails and such by members. So I left and have not regretted it. This is a great site with great info. Anymore this is the only site I tell people about. So if anyone is looking for a good truck site check this site here. It is really nice as well because it covers other years as well.

Gotta agree with John. I admit, I met some of the local Slick60s guys at Pate swap meet a month ago and all seemed to be good guys, but I'm not much of a club guy myself. I get more into reading about problems/fixes.
BTW NumberDummy, my Harley is a FLATHEAD, so you missed it on all 4 guesses...nyah, nyah, nyah.
Hey Willie3486;
How about sharing that post about door panels with us! I bet ya I give ya credit for it; as well as the moderater on this site will.
Always looking for techinques to build from.

I have it saved from MSN , I will look it up and see if I can find it. I have a few computers and I don't know where its at but I do have it. They are not hard to make if you have a pattern.
I have a set of slightly damaged panels (64 F100 project); & my old 65 model p/o used a coke-cola foam board sign too make a pattern for it; I'm back & forth on wheather or not purcahsing new panels. ($149.00) or covering the ones I got.
I'm always looking at other folks ideals on patterns and design for future use is why I'm interested in your design as well.
You administrators and moderators who are trying to get someone to snitch or squeal please bug off. Your job as such is to look for this offending material and handle it.
Having a pattern allows me variety on my current project. When I built my 65 model I got the black panels for $49.00 while the red & white where $149.00
I am kinda new here, maybe three years, and I really have seen no problem with any of the posts in the way of profanity. Some of the users get a little grumpy but I think it is kinda funny. I do at times ask some dumb questions and I get the appropriate response!
If anyone thinks this site is vulgar and or profane I disagree.
Yah I know .. no one asked, but that is my two cents
I consider BP a friend even though I have never met him in person. He was very helpful with info when my son was putting PDBs on my (I keep forgetting now his) 66, This contact was over on the other site.
I've met Banjo John and consider him a friend. I try to mind my manners around him, both on the forums and in real life, because I respect him. Unfortunately, as has been pointed out, that isn't always going to be the case for people who don't know him from Adam.
People are always coming and going from Slick 60s to here, and back again. Get ready for the "Exodus of Garbz" story coming soon to a forum near you.
***** and Obsa nice to see ya boyz, I doubt if there'll be much political discussion over here to get things smokin'. ***** you need to to a how-to on wood door handles!!
Jus kiddin' bud.
Like ND and Crusty John and many others, I am a member on both sites. I have been to every Slickstock and can honestly say I never met a bad apple, in real life, in the bunch that loves these trucks. I hope Banjo comes back to help out here, but if not, oh well. There's always that other place. And vice versa.
