Its time to replace the coil springs on my '93' 4x4 and have never done this before. I replaced the struts and springs on a foreign one time and was wondering if my truck is similiear in that the spring/shock come out as an assembly and the spring is compressed outside the truck? I am on a business trip right now and unable to go look at the truck to get an idea so am hoping for input.
Spring is not compressed the way it is on some vehicles. To remove the spring, jack up the truck, remove the front wheel, undo the lower shock mount, undo the upper spring retaining nut, then undo the lower retaining nut. Then just step on the hub and the coil will fall out.
