Ok I just recently bought a 1996 F150 4x4 6cyl with 61,000 mile. I bought it to be my normal daily driver, and want to screw it up now.
My idea is to put a set of 17" Lightning Wheels with like a 35" tire maybe a Toyo or similar, but very road friendly and a lil meaty.
I have searched here and on google for a pic and can only find that bronco with street tires. I think i will have to turn down the center for the 4x4 hub but other than that don't foresee any major setbacks
Does any one know of any?
Does any have a pic?
oh I think I will have to put some kind of spacer in the front to compensate for the offset... I think thats it
I like that 79! It looks awesome, except for the 92-96 mirrors.
I think that a lifted 4wd version of a 1st Gen Lightning looks goofy. I have seen 2 of them before. There was one on Ebay a while back that was a real Lightning that someone ruined. The one on Ebay was a real one and the other was a clone like your talking about.
That Bronco was not likely converted to 2wd. I believe they actually made 2wd Broncos.
I think that Bronco looks awesome like it is. I don't know about the lifted Lightning look. It would be different, and it would look custom with out looking like someone threw a bunch of crappy accessory parts on it. If you like the idea, then go for it.
If your going to do it, I would go 4 inch lift and 33s.
Maybe I'm wrong about the 2wd Broncos being factory. I know I have seen them. Maybe they were converted. Wasn't it actually made by SVT? I think they made 2 of them. My friend was talking about them a while back.
