My 86 Tempo has such a light, it stopped working about 10 years ago after I had the struts &
springs replaced and haven't figured out why. In any event, my understanding is that they
were used for determining EPA estimated mileage and nothing more.
Yup, I have one of those, too. It's an add-on circuit that gets installed when
4WD is installed. This bulb & circuit isn't handled by the printed circuit (that
handles most of the rest of the cluster - all but the Emissions light) but is
independently added.
Yup,and there's a white/pink wire that goes to the fuse box.More specifically, the light blue wire is for the Differential Lockout Indicator Switch.
Does anybody know how the white/pink wire attaches to the fuse box?I have the whole harness for the indicator light, but I can't figure out how the white/pink wire attaches. There's a green clip at the end that I know clips on the back of the fuse block, but the manual says it goes on F-11,yet I can't find a way for it to slip on.Any help is greatly appreciated.
I was confused about it plugging into the front or the rear, I then remembered I have my old
harness easily available in the garage, so here ya go (plugs into the rear):
1985 F250 indicator lights on instrument panel not working
Hey Guys,
I am just looking for some direction....the indicator lights for the right turn signal and the dimmer/bright light indicator on the instrument cluster do not work. The brake light, right turn signal and 4x4 lights all work, and I have already put new bulbs in for all the indicator lights. Of course, the fuses are all good as well.
So, I am about to remove the cluster and see if I can find some wiring problems, perhaps ground problems or something.
Does anyone have any experience with tracing the source of these two non-working lights? (by the way, all the turn lamps work on the outside of the truck and the dimmer switch works as well).
