New front brake caliper
I just installed a new passenger side front brake caliper in my 2007 F-150 XLT 4x4. When i removed the brake line from the caliper, brake fluid came out mostly from the old caliper. I didn't notice much, if anything coming out of the line as it was installed on the new caliper. About 20 minutes went by as I put everything back together and I tried to open up the bleed valve to see if any fluid would come out. I wasn't really ready to bleed the brakes tonight, but I just wanted to see if fluid was reaching the new caliper. I was going to go with the gravity bleed method that I had read from the ford service manual. Do I need to start bleeding manually to get the fluid started before I gravity bleed? I expected fluid to be flowing while I reconnected the brake line to the caliper and for the caliper to fill up once I got things hooked up. Is this incorrect?
