Clintbonnie: Is this Diablo Sport Preditor Programer the same one that most everyone on this forum has and raves about? seems that the price has come way down since I looked at them a few years back........as I remember they were nearly $500 at one time??
Thanks all once again for all the replies!! Have a GREAT & SAFE weekend! -Rick
Rick..I would not say that "everyone" has one... Alot the of the guys have AE which are great and will do more functions.. But yes, the price has come down. And for the money it does a good job..
That sounds alot like what mine started doing some time ago. I didn't do the 50 cent fix but bought the "clips" from Ford. $16. The next day I saw the 50 cent mod. Figures.
The way I understand the clips, that they go over your exiting connector to keep it from separating... The 50 cent fix does the job.. and it is cheaper..
Thanks again guys!!! I have pretty much deceided to have my truck towed to the shop so there won't be any possibility of it stalling out IF the connector(s) were to come loose.
The shop has a towing company they use that they trust and I have towing on my insurance, so why not use it.
The truck will run on just 4 cylinders. It will be rough, and you won't get anywhere fast, but if one plug comes all the way off, the truck will still get you there.
UPDATE: 6/11/10: I ended up having the mechanic who came very highly recomended and that has done other stuff for me and that I trust 110% do this repair for me: He replaced the UVCH with the newer upgraded one from Ford and also its acompanying VC and my engine runs smoother than it ever has now, so all is good, just thought all that responded would like to know! Have A GREAT one!! -Rick
p/s: my guy said that he has done quite a few of these and NEVER has done any on the left (drivers side) and that from what hes heard that I have a 90% chance that I'll never have a problem with the left side.........does this sound like good info? or should I expect the left side to cause trouble in the near future? (My late '99 only has 92k original miles on it right now. (R)
