I'm converting from a 2 speed C6 (Broken 2nd gear) to a 3 speed toploader and i was wondering if anyone knows how to setup a clutch kit and flywheel on these things...i've looked and can't find any info on doing this so i'm way in the dark here....but i learn quick and i'm good with my hands. all i really need is a manual....or a web page that shows me how. Help?!?!?!
Bell housing, flywheel, clutch, including pilot bearing, disc, pressure plate.
Clutch pedal set up, note there are many changes in the pedal sets between years, so find one from your year. Clutch linkage. Good luck with that, or try to adapt hydraulic or cable.
Why a 3 speed? Find a T18/19 or NP435.
Cross member, possibly drive shaft.
A donor vehicle is the best bet for all these parts. Note truck bells may differ from car bells, unless your 3 speed is from a car.
Oh yea, shift linkage. You gonna swap out the column for 3 on the tree, or adapt some POS floor shifter to fit in your cab. Maybe you can even get it to shift like:
R-2
1-3
instead of the sometimes backwards because of adaptation:
2-3
1-R
Yes, I am trying to discourage you.
IMO this is not a less expensive alternative to getting a C6, especially if your time is worth anything to you.
