Rear axle

Will a rear end from a 1987 to 1996 truck fit my 1986 Ford F250? I currently have a worn out 10.25" semi-floating rear end, and would like to put in a newer 10.25" full floater.

Any info would be apprecieted.

Not knowing anything about those rears, I did a little test that you may want to try. I went to

www.car-part.com

and plugged in your truck. It gave me 1986 and 1985 choices.

I then plugged in your style truck as an 1987. it gave me choices from 1988 on up to 1997. So reading between the lines no. Can it be made to fit? Maybe. But it will not be a direct replacement according to the junkyard list.

Yes, it'll fit fine. The only difference is the ABS sensor, which won't matter putting it into an older truck. You just can't put an old axle in a new truck, or the ABS won't work.
