i know about the explorers, but those axles won't fit under a fullsize, so i didn't mention them :flipoff:

would the disc brakes swap to the full size 8.8 from the explorer 8.8?

probably, and i also believe they work for a swap on the 9 inch as well

just read that the explorer disks only work with big bearing 9 inch rears.

Difference is the newer ones are narrower cause the newer frames are wider. You put them on the old frame and dont work. Too narrow. The newer one's only have 4 rivits into the side of the frame and 70's have 4 on the side and 2 on top of the frame rail.
