Yep Chris there should be no oil. Did you pull yor VC's yet? I would try to wiggle it at idle first. Try to do the simple stuff first.

heys guys mine just started do it too. I drove fine on my way to a friends lastnight except for when I was cruising around 55mph i could tell the engine was cutting out slightly like it wasn't getting the gas. When I got back in it to leave. It was doing it alot worse. When I stopped at a stop light and took off, it was like it had no powerand it was cutting in and out bad. I just did the 50 cent mod last week after seeing a p0316 code. I cleared the code and it has not been back and it has been running fine til lastnight. What is the ICP thats being refered too and how do I check that? Or what else ma it be? thanks

Pull the ICP plug and see if it clears up. If it does replace the ICP, if it doesn't it may be your CPS or ICP. Can you pull your PCM codes?

when looking for oil. Am I looking for it to be on the connector or do I use a socket and pull out the sensor and check for oil on that? I pulled the connector and its free from oil

My truck did something similar, I replaced IPC, CPS and the truck was still acting up. The harness was my culprit.

Good luck.
Here's a picture of that area... note the "clean spot" on the driver's side valve cover below ...that's from running my fingers under the connector going to the injectors to make sure the wires haven't chaffed by rubbing against the valve cover and shorted out!

It's also possible that one of the connectors going to the injectors that's located under the valve covers has come part-way loose ...and when mine did that it didn't set any codes!

The icp will have oil on the inner portion but shouldn't be leaking out, the cps should be clean and the icp shouldn't be leaking

Unplugging it will make the pcm default to another code and should smooth the engine out.

visually looking at it I did not see any oil leaking from around it. When I had it in the shop for the p1316 code and missing pretty bad. I had my mechanic do the 50 cent mod. he said it was unplugged halfway. I am curious if it was a bad harness. He also said something about the # 8 injector doing something. Thats a possibility too I guess

if one injector is not firing will it be noticeable because it idles pretty smooth now but still can fill a slight vibration at idle and while moving. also when i start it in the morning if fill the exhaust manifold with my hand while its still cold and at idle and they all seem to be the same temp as each other, so i think they all are firing. My egts are still high, at idle its 400*, driving empty at 60 mph its 900*.
