Hi guys I am a newer member and I have been over in the superduty forum, but I have a ? about my business partners truck. It is a ext cab long box 2005 f150. He has a axle code #25. I was wondering who made the axle and what is the gear ratio. Also what are the trans ratios?
We pull a 9500# bob cat around and I just bought a newer f250 (06) and would like to know how they are going to compare. We both have 5.4's and I have a torqshift trans. Thanks and cheers!!!!!
I'm not sure of the manufacturer, but most likely it's made by Dana. If it's 4.10, it's a 10-1/4" ring gear differential that's found under max payload trucks. It should also have 7 lug steel wheels.
Thanks for clearing that up, chops. I honestly did not know the supplier for the differentials with Max-Payload. Since a lot of parts and assemblies are sub-contracted, Dana could have possibly made it. But even so, it's a Ford design. So no matter who made it, it's a Ford differential.
Thanks guys this is good info I thought it was the same as mine for some reason ,but I should of looked closer!!!!! It must be pretty strong with a 10.25 ring gear!
