I don't think that TR is your axle code since here is a list of AXLE CODES
But, on a SRW PSD the only option would be 3.73 gears. The code would help you to know if you had a limited slip or not.
Or look at the tag on the rear diff cover....the second line should start either 3 73 or 3 L 73 if you have the limited slip. Just FYI, sometimes the first number is covered by one of the diff cover bolts.
Double check that, Jim. All axle codes are either a two digit number, like 45, or they're alphanumeric, like C5. You might be picking up the trim color code, for example. At least, that was the case pre-'99. If someone else has more accurate information, step up.
I also have a 2000 F250 extended cab with the V10. My vehicle label mentions TR for springs but I do not know what that means. If someone can shed light on that I would appreciate it greatly.
On the certification sticker on the lower doorpost behind the driver's door, under "SPR". There will be a two-letter code. The first letter is the front springs, and the second letter is the rear springs. On a 4x4, the front spring codes are:
S = 4,000 pounds @ground
T = 4,400 pounds @ground
U = 4,800 pounds @ground
V = 5,200 pounds @ground
W = 5,600 pounds @ground
X = 6,000 pounds @ground
Code W front springs are rare on a pickup - usually on gasser F-450s.
Code X front springs are reserved for F-450 PSDs, as well as for PSD pickups with the snowplow pkg.
Rear spring codes are A, B, or C.
A = F-250, '99 thru about midyear 2001.
B = F-350 SRW, plus F-250 since mid-year 2001.
C = F-350 DRW
On the pickups, code B rear springs are rated at 6,830 pounds combined rating @ground. Code A = 6,084. Code C = 8,250.
I have a Fisher 8 foot snow plow mounted on my truck. With the T springs, is this appropriate for my truck or should I invest in a heavier duty leaf springs for the front end? The Ford dealership I bought the truck from said it could handle an 8 foot plow with no difficulty. The front end of the truck goes down an inch or so when I raise the blade off the ground. Thank you.

I posted earlier that the C5 was a limited slip 4.09 on the Econoline vans at one point, but my 1997 F250 has a C5 that is listed as a 4.10 limited slip.
